Voluntary Opportunities at The Recovery In-Sight Centre

  • The Recovery In-Sight Centre, situated in the Business Park in Hatfield, welcomes people affected by mental health problems who wish to engage in the work of the Centre on a voluntary basis.

Ten people have previously volunteered and some have gone on to become paid workers with the Centre. Others have left to seek employment elsewhere or develop their own interests and pursuits.

All have mentioned that their skills and confidence and general well-being have improved through engaging in meaningful work within a supportive and flexible business environment that is the user-led enterprise, The Recovery In-Sight Centre. Drawing from past experience of workplace stress, and recovery training and mentoring, applying flexible working practices, the Centre is hugely supportive of all staff and volunteers engaged.

There are many opportunities to get involved - in administration, IT, marketing or sales, newsletter writing - all areas promoting the useful work that The Recovery In-Sight Centre does in enabling people affected by mental health problems in their recovery, through training, peer support, research and advisory services in the mental health field.

You will be working alongside other volunteers and staff, building up your office and team-working skills, and building up your self-confidence in being able to cope and thrive in an office environment.

We reimburse all out-of-pocket expenses and you will be included as a full team member, coached and mentored by our staff, all of whom are trained In-Sight and City & Guilds trainers in the recovery training, In-Sight. You will be hugely supported in your own personal development by being encouraged to follow courses that might interest you, in either personal or business skills development.

There has never been a better time to get involved, nor a better place welcoming your involvement and your commitment, in enabling many other people to access the services of The Recovery In-Sight Centre to enable them in their recovery, and by volunteering, in enabling you in yours.

Complete the application form below, and ring us on 01707-284808 to arrange a visit to The Recovery In-Sight Centre to meet other team members and to have a look at where you would be working and what you might be interested in. We look forward to seeing you soon -
