Free Recovery In-Sight Course - enrollment now open
-
Thanks to a recent European Social Fund/Skills Funding Agency grant, The Recovery In-Sight Social Enterprise is pleased to announce that it is planning to run a new free Recovery In-Sight course from January 2012 - or sooner - when 12 new trainees have been recruited.
The course will ideally run over 16 weeks of 3 hours each week, or 8 weeks of 6 hours each week. The day and time have yet to be arranged and will be organised according to what people prefer.
This course is open to people who use mental health services and who are ideally also looking to return to work, take up higher education or increase their voluntary work commitments. It is a comprehensive lifestyle development training, delivered by qualified and experienced user-trainers, and covers managing a mental health condition, life skills development and wellness planning. It is University-accredited (degree level, 20 points), and 9 previous courses have run in Hertfordshire demonstrating the effectiveness of the Recovery In-Sight course in progressing recovery. 84 people have completed the Recovery In-Sight course, receiving attendance certificates, and many have gone on to study for the credit points.
Trainees undertake an interview to see if they would benefit from the course and to ensure their continued attendance, before commencing.
The course will run at the Old Free School, Watford. Places are limited to 12 people to ensure a quality service, and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are interested to find out more, or wish to arrange for a short interview, please contact the RISE team on 01923-297122.Â
You can also find out more about the course by looking at the section ‘Training” which gives more information on the contents and the section on “Research” for recovery outcomes for the last 7 courses run, as evaluated in focus groups and questionnaires that previous trainees completed before and after undertaking the course.
