The Recovery In-Sight Centre wins the Federation of Small Businesses Recent Graduate Award 2009

  • The Recovery In-Sight Centre won the Recent Graduate Award 2009 from the Federation of Small Businesses (Herts) at a black tie ceremony at Tewin Bury Farm, Welywn on 18th June 2009, which was attended by over 200 people.

    Every entry was assessed by at least 5 judges from the panel of 14 sponsor organisations, including the FSB, Trend Micro, and Business Link East.

    David Dexter, National Secretary of the Federation of Small Businesses introduced the evening and spoke about how the FSB was the UK’s leading business organisation.

    Susie Fowler-Watt from BBC Look East presented the awards to the team, Dr Heather Straughan, Ila Bell, Liz Barroeta and Linda Stoneman on stage, which was captured by a photographer and a video link displayed this on high-tech screens around the huge marquee.

    The team received a 40cm high, engraved glass statue and a framed award certificate.

    After the ceremony, a fundraising photo was also taken by Steven Kettle, in aid of the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance service.

    Following on from the team’s win for Best Business Plan at the University of Hertfordshire’s Flare competition, but prior to the FSB Recent Graduate Award, the Watford Observer covered the team’s progress in their 26th June 2009 printed edition and online.
