Roger Smith - Mood & Bipolar Researcher, Educator and Author

  • Roger Smith Social Educator and AuthorRoger worked for a multinational food manufacturer for many years before experiencing extreme anxiety that led to hospitalisation. After a diagnosis of bipolar disorder Roger was able to return to work with the same business for a further 8 years. In this time, he learned about the self management of mood disorders and qualified as a stress advisor.

    Since 2006 Roger has been self-employed with his work involving mental health research with Rethink, delivery of training sessions from Sussex to Cumbria, as well as continuing to write about his unique views on moods and recovery.

    He says that, “Facilitating on behalf of In-Sight Recovery was a big step forward as it allowed me to meet with the same groups of students over many weeks and to hear and see how the techniques were working for them.”

    Roger specialises in helping groups understand mood, mood disorders, recovery and food & mood.
